ENERGY ADVISERS
These energy advisors are the faces that you are most likely going to run into out and about town. They are the active faces in the local Chamber of Commerce, local business networking groups, donating time at the Farmer’s Market, talking about solar technology at a local school STEAM event or who you will be able to answer most of the questions you have about solar, the solar installation process, or what to expect when going solar.
Energy Advisors are the people who you will spend the most time with. They work with each homeowner to determine system size, esthetics and answer any question that might arise during an installation process.
DESIGNER and ENGINEERING
Once your Energy Adviser collects your information, they pass on the information to our Design and Engineering department. Our E.A.’s work closely with the designer to ensure that your expectations and system needs are communicated effectively, and the Designer has the information they need to build an accurate system. Once our designer has a design set prepared, it is presented to the engineer who approves design. With the correct approvals from Engineering, the Designer presents assorted options to the Energy Adviser, who then gets correct approvals from the homeowner.
Once there is homeowner approval, the Designer than takes any engineering documentation the appropriate city for Permits.
LOGISTICS
Upon approval of City permits, the solar design and engineering documentation is sent to our logistics department.
The Logistics Department is who oversees scheduling the installation date and ordering the correct materials for each, individual homeowner’s system. Once the appropriate parts have been ordered, an installation date is selected.
Again, you will see our Energy Adviser as they will reach out to you to confirm scheduling options.
INSTALLATION
On the first day of installation, you will once again meet with your Energy Adviser. Your E.A. will meet you bright and early to get a the last few pieces of information for the Installation team to begin.
They will talk you through the installation process and introduce you to the Lead Installer who will be managing the jobsite.
We are proud that our installation team are all employees of Del Sol Energy. Why is this important for a consumer? Because that means our team is covered by Workman’s Compensation. Our team is fully insured – from general liability to Worker’s Comp, meaning no matter the situation, we have our team’s interest at hand. The fact our team are all employees also means that they are paid by the hour of completed work – not a piece meal rate. This is a proven model showing increased quality of installation as our team focuses on workmanship and not just rushed work to earn by panel installed.
LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNICATION
Working as an umbrella overlooking the Del Sol Experience is the Del Sol Energy leadership team. To ensure consistency in pricing, customer service and installation, our leadership team has developed a communication system that allows everyone to stay in the ‘solar loop.’ What is the solar loop? It is the loop that ensures our Energy Advisers understand the current solar panels we have to sell and the most up-to-date and accurate pricing. It means that our installation team has been highly trained on current installation and safety processes. It also means that our team works as a fluid energy, ensuring the Energy Advisers, logistical teams and installation teams work together to meet customer expectations.
Pete Jacoway is Del Sol Energy’s Senior Energy Adviser. He said his commitment to the solar industry was a “natural transition” from the Western industry where he began his career. His roots are grounded in Historic downtown Brentwood where his family owned a traditional western store geared toward farm and ranch owners in the far East Contra Costa community.
