Installer I
Installers are integral members of a solar installation at Del Sol Energy. As an Installer 1, installer works under close supervision to perform a wide variety of tasks and operational duties. The ideal Installer 1 is motivated, efficient and a team player with a high attention to detail, work productivity and a genuine intention to the trade. Additionally, an Installer 1 will strive to maintain a high level of business ethics and professional integrity.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with a team to install roof mounts, racking and solar modules on roof, carport and ground mounted systems.
- Organize and maintain system components in warehouses, company vehicles and at job sites.
- Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology, trade certifications, maintenance and safety.
- Follow procedures, instructions and work orders as part of standard work functions.
- Maintains adherence to company policies, safety policies and good housekeeping practices.
- Identifies gaps in safety standards and safety risks in the environment and provides recommendations to higher level technical staff and management.
- Ensure tasks are performed according to organizational requirements for quality management and safety standards, policies and procedures.
- Keep job site clean and free of debris.
- Load and unload job equipment and materials from warehouse to truck to job site and back.
- Complete and submit job task lists and reporting on daily and weekly basis.
- Additional duties required as needed.
- Work on a roof, ladder, crawlspaces and attics.
Requirements

- Must have a valid “Class C” California driver’s license.
- Must have reliable transportation.

- Ability to work in extreme conditions (i.e. heat, cold, wind).
- Ability to pull/push/lift up to 70 lbs. multiples times in an 8-hour shift.
- Owns the required hand and power tools for the job.
- Must learn and understand NEC and local codes and how it pertains to PV installations.
- Must have good prioritization, organization, analytical and planning skills.
- Must have a professional appearance, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must be flexible, be able to adapt to new situations, have self-control and have high attention to detail.
- Willingness to take direction and learn and implement new ways of completing tasks.
- Owns the required hand tools for the job.
- Must meet or exceed minimum installation productivity goals.

Installer II:
Installers are an integral members of solar installation crews at Del Sol Energy. Our Installers work in a team environment installing solar arrays at residential and commercial customer locations. Installers and their team are responsible for the accurate, timely and safe installation of solar arrays and batteries, update Lead Installers on project specifics, and rely on Best Installation and Safety practices to guide their installs. Additionally, an Installer 2 will strive to maintain a high level of business ethics and professional integrity.
Primary Responsibilities
- Travel to surrounding towns and counties for residential and commercial installations.
- Work on roof, ladders, crawlspaces and attics.
- Responsible for the accurate measurement, layout and installation of solar modules/array and mounting hardware including: roof attachments, racking, solar modules and all necessary equipment for commercial and residential solar installs.
- Provide support for Lead Installer including: assistance in job site preparation, setting up ladders, loading and unloading equipment and other safety equipment, and assurance of quality installs.
- Ensure that PV arrays are installed per plans into structural roof members and flashed properly.
- Follow Lead Installer directions.
- Accurately and safely complete electrical wiring of solar array/system (AC and DC).
- Ability to perform required tasks safely and quickly as directed by manager with minimal supervision.
- Ensure tools and equipment are property maintained. Ensure all tools and equipment are picked up and job site is secured each day to eliminate waste and other potential hazards.
- Assist in on-site cleaning, repair, maintenance of components including panel washing, trouble shooting and resolving problems that may arise.
- Ability to efficiently troubleshoot problems and independently research and apply solutions.
- Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology, maintenance and safety.

- Responsible for daily stocking of van with necessary and appropriate equipment needed to perform job.
- Ensure trucks and warehouse are maintained organized, cleaned and well stocked with necessary material and equipment. Communicate with Warehouse Management or Strategic Coordinator when parts are low.
- Load, unload and cleanup of job equipment and materials.
- Ensure completion of daily, weekly and monthly job check off lists.
- Complete and submit to management job check-off lists and progress reports as required.
- Assist in the commissioning of the solar array and monitoring systems during project installation.
- Capable of independently performing initial site-walks and site surveys and reporting accurate, detailed reports to main office.
- Coachable.

- Ability to pull/push/lift up to 70 lbs. multiples times in an 8-hour shift.
- Ability to independently perform PB system site surveys.
- Electrical knowledge, ability to pull wire and competently bind pipe.
- Owns the required hand and power tools for the job.
- Must understand NEC and local codes and how it pertains to PV installations.
- Must be certified on scissor lift or have skill to be certified immediately upon hire.
- Must have good prioritization, organization, analytical, planning and reporting skills.

Lead Installer:
The role of Lead Installer is an entry level Field Management Position and will help lead the installation crew to successfully complete the installation of a residential or commercial PV system, battery storage and EV wall connections. Crew members with title of Installer I , Installer II and Laborers, fall under the management of the Lead Installer, who has the responsibility of guiding and coordinating fellow installers daily. Lead Installer is responsible for tasks such as training, job site management, safety training and safety practice, product installation, troubleshooting and core electrical work. The Lead Installer is also the key point of contact for customers on job sites, warehouse staff and the Sales Department. Additionally, a Lead Installer will strive to maintain a high level of business ethics, professional integrity and ensure adherence to installation productivity goals.
Primary Responsibilities:

- Estimate tools and materials required for each job and ensure trucks/vans are loaded with appropriate and necessary supplies and materials for each job.
- Take safety seriously with safe working practices and ensuring crew is following and practicing all safety standards and policies.
- Understanding and application of proper fall arrest and protective equipment to maintain elevated levels of safety at installation sites.
- Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills to effectively communicate with crew, company staff and leadership.
- Professional communication practices that promote positive interactions with customers and inspectors.
- Ensure accurate site preparation and clean up: Including complete paperwork and forms as required by management; staging of materials, tools and loading trucks safely and effectively, safe operation of vehicles; ability to pull/push/lift up to 50 lbs. multiples times in an 8-hour shift.
- Experience in general construction and power tools with ability to train best practices on both general construction and power tool levels.
- Ability to successfully lead crew to complete full residential or commercial PV Installation from start to finish, including system commission, in a timely manner that results in a clean, professional installation. Including the assembly of racking system and solar array, proper sealing of all roof penetrations, trenching, electrical connections and terminations, concrete work and equipment assembly.
- Experience installing and training of installation of inverters and electrical gear, electrical panels, switch gear, panel upgrades (PV, CoolPV and thermal), transformers, racking, and can pull wire and competently bend conduit.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues, read electrical blue prints, schematics, and line drawings.
- Troubleshoot other issues that may arise while on a job site.
- Project clean-up, including client site and installation vehicle.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to successfully run up to a six (6) person crew; ability to teach and mentor employees how to sagely and accurately perform all roof related work for installs; provide professional guidance, mentoring and support to fellow crew members; monitor workmanship and performance of crew by inspecting project and assignment completion quality.
- Ability and willingness to document and report progress and completion of quality installations on daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to management.
- Must have a positive and encouraging attitude (Negative or aggressive attitudes will not be tolerated) towards crew, fellow employees, or management.
- Demonstrates continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide exceptional customer service.
- Maintains adherence to company policies, safety policies and good housekeeping practices. Identifies gaps in safety standards as well as safety risks in the environment and provides recommendations to higher level technical staff and management.
- Ensure tasks are performed according to organizational requirements for quality management and safety standards, policies and procedures.
- Ensure vehicle and warehouse are stocked with necessary material/ equipment. Communicate with Manager when parts are low-Complete PV System Checklist upon completion of installation.
- Work with Warehouse manager to ensure levels of consumables and necessary parts are stocked at appropriate levels.
- Complete and submit job progress reports to management on a Weekly and Daily basis, or as required.
- Be coachable.
- Ability and willingness to interview and vet new hires and assist in making final hiring recommendations to management.
- Ability and willingness to monitor employee performance and make firing or disciplinary recommendations when required.
- Actively manage customer accounts on Salesforce; including job status updates and installation photos.
Requirements:
